Photo Walk Description
Walk itinerary: Meet your photo walk leaders, Wayne & Melinda Pope inside Art in the Loft Gallery 109, 109 N. Second Ave. Alpena, MI. at 2: 45pm. Admission is free. Bring your camera, owner’s manual, tripod and photo accessories. Dress warmly, in layers, as Alpena can be cold in October. Our welcome/orientation session will update you on our itinerary. We will talk briefly about digital camera settings and show you how to pose and photograph people. Following that, we will visit “Old Town” in downtown Alpena, MI. There will be photo opportunities of architecture, people portraits, the waterfront, Thunder Bay River and Alpena Lighthouse. We will have a tour leader to brief us on Alpena’s local history. Bob Lyngos, special collections librarian at Alpena County George N. Fletcher Public Library, will share with us interesting facts about Alpena, MI. Our dinner destination is ” The Antler Room”, a private dining room in John Lau’s Saloon where we will dine as a group, share photos and make friends. Our reservations have been made. Please join us and have fun exploring Alpena, MI on the “Sunrise Side” of our Great Lake State, Michigan.

Wayne’s wife, Melinda Pope, is also a photography instructor at LCC and will be co-leading this photo walk. Wayne and Melinda have led two previous Scott Kelby Worldwide Photo Walks in 2011 and 2012 to Traverse City, MI. We look forward to meeting you, sharing our knowledge and having a good time.
