Hello Photo-walkers!

My name is Stephen Power, and I am a full time professional editorial, commercial and portrait photographer with 29 years published experience, based in County Limerick, Ireland.

I won the 2007 Guru Award (photography section) from Scott kelby’s NAPP organisation, in Boston, USA and I have photographed for international book publishers, newspapers, rock stars, government-funded agencies, national organisations and multi-national corporations. I also write on photography subjects and teach at my studio in County Limerick and online for a major international teaching organisation “The Photography Institute”.

My recent photography clients include: Tourism Ireland, Bord Bia, Pfizer (Ireland), The Irish Times, The Sunday Times (UK), Dorling Kindersley, Johnson Press (Ireland), BMS Ireland, The Knight of Glin, Prenton Publications, Musgrave Retail, The Liffey press, MediaTeam Publications, The Photography Institute, The Mid West Regional Authority (MWRA) and The Irish Congress of Trade Unions.

My recent photography book “Traditional Notes: A Celebration of Irish Music and Musicians” was published by The Liffey Press in Dublin at the end of 2011 and has received excellent critical acclaim in the press and eleswehre.

My Photo-Walk will be in Adare Village, Co. Limerick – frequently regarded as Ireland’s prettiest village. There is a great deal to photograph in this compact village, including colourful painted houses, shops and pubs, a row of thatched cottages, two old churches, a riverside walk, a beautiful park and gardens (with a thatched band-stand) and even a beautifully restored castle on the river Maigue.

During the Photo-Walk (which is entirely FREE), I will be delighted to offer you helpful hints and tips to ensure that you get the best photographs you can on the day. At the end of the walk (in one of Adare’s great pubs) we will share images by swapping cameras and offering feedback on the experience!
