A Message From The Walk Leader

Join us in Downtown Tampa as we explore the area and discover the many photographic opportunities awaiting us.  Downtown Tampa is home to both modern and historic buildings, giving us variety in architectural structures.  Some of our subjects will not only be the buildings themselves, but the shapes, lines, colors, and reflections that the downtown area is composed of.  Aside from the buildings, there are plenty of other photographic opportunities available.  If you’re more of a people photographer, I hear there will be a group of photographers walking around the area that will make for some interesting shooting!

We’ll be meeting at Indigo Coffee at the intersection of Franklin and Twiggs.  If you would like to grab some coffee or a muffin before we get started, plan to arrive early so we can start on time.  We will DEPART from this location at 10:00 a.m.

After we start, we will wind our way through the streets of downtown, making stops along the way at pre-determined locations, before ending at the Florida Museum of Photographic Arts for lunch at noon.  Thanks to my buddy Chip Weiner, who teaches there, the museum will be providing a lunch of pizza and soft drinks!

For a little inspiration, I will point you toward Jay Maisel (links to a page with other links) and Dan Steinhardt from Epson.  These guys are just great photographers.
