A Message From The Walk Leader

Grab your cameras ladies and gents, any make, model, and style will do! We are going to spend two mid-morning hours on beautiful Miami Beach. We’ll start on the North end of Lummus Park at the Starbucks, then go shooting up South Beach. If the beach is what you want, William Lane’s unique lifeguard stands are at your disposal. If architecture is more your fare, there’s the Ocean Drive hotels, the 1937 US Post Office, the Wolfsonian Museum, and even the Shelborne Hotel - forerunner to the International Style of Architecture. In this area you get to set your aperture on Spanish Revival, MiMo, and of course the largest example of Streamline Deco in the world! Are you one of those individuals who like people watching? We have the some of the most interesting characters in Florida - usually hanging out around Ocean Drive and the area of Casa Casuarina, better known as the Versace Mansion. After we’ve filled our memory sticks full of images from this mystical, magical place we’ll meet up at Jerry’s Famous Deli - a 1939 cafeteria that was meticulously restored and rededicated in 2002.
