A Message From The Walk Leader
Smithfield is full of rich history. Between the architectural elements of some of the historic homes, municipal buildings, and churches are such places as the Ava Gardner Museum, the Heritage Museum, and the very beautiful riverfront Neuse River Theater and Amphitheater.
Join me, your Guide, for two hours on what we hope to be a beautiful Saturday morning as we stroll through downtown Smithfield and capture much of this on film. We will begin at the Neuse River Amphitheater, wind our way through downtown (map will be provided), end where we began so as to pick up our vehicles and drive a couple of blocks to lunch at Mucho Mexico (ample parking is available!). I promise you a fun-filled morning of picture taking, fellowship among fellow photography enthusiasts, and of course, GREAT food to cap the morning off!
Lunch is a wonderful way to finish off the activity. It will give us all a chance to share our photos, even if they’re still on the camera (if you are taking 35mm, that’s ok too!). Lunch, however, will be on your own.
So, have I convinced you yet? I hope so!
Be sure to register soon. There is a limit of 50 registratants for our group so don’t wait!
And be sure to check back here for updates or shoot me an email at lsullivan@sulcompr.com. I’ll answer you within 24 hours.
Look forward to seeing you on July 18th. Let’s put Downtown Smithfield on the map!

- Originally "The Bank of Smithfield" then "First Citizens Bank" this lovely bit of architecture was built in 1898... They took the idea of the corner, invested it and found a threefold return.

Had great time, would love to do it again. Love all the shots taken.
Love the shots I see so far and I look forward to seeing what the Visitors Bureau can use to promote Smithfield.
You are most welcome, Everyone! It was a whole lot of fun and I’m absolutely loving the pictures posted so far. WOW! How to choose….WHAT to choose!!
Keep ‘em coming.
Glad we were able to get out on the walk - was a ton of fun!
