A Message From The Walk Leader
Here’s a riddle: When do you travel west, to go to the Far East? Answer: When you’re exploring Chinatown in San Francisco, that’s when! San Francisco’s Chinatown is the oldest Chinatown in North America and also the largest Chinese community outside of Asia. It is so large it overlaps 5 postal zip codes! But so small that it only covers approximately 1.65 square miles.
During this colorful and exciting photo walk we will explore the Chinese culture through our lenses, and capture some stunning images of this amazing community as the sun sets over the San Francisco Bay.
We will gather at the historic Chinatown Gate, the entrance to Chinatown at 6:00pm, and return to the gate by 8:45pm. (Sunset in SF is at 8:30PM on July 18th, 2009).
After the photo walk, we’ll head over to the Chinatown Restaurant, those that are hungry can head inside to continue the adventure!
This will truly be an adventure as we won’t have a set path to follow. Only a theme… Chinatown! So come with charged batteries, and erased memory cards, and prepare to capture some amazing images.
