A Message From The Walk Leader

Calling Photographers of all skill levels!

Welcome to the RACINE Photowalk Page! My name is Michael LaPointe, owner of Studio MLP Photography in Racine, and I will be the leader for the Racine edition this year’s WORLDWIDE PHOTOWALK!!! The details haven’t been quite ironed out yet, and are subject to change, but it looks like we will be meeting in DOWNTOWN RACINE at Monument Square (on 6th and Main) at 2pm. From there, we will wind our way north down Main Street and the side streets until we get to Chartroom Charlie’s (209 Dodge St) just north of the river, at 4pm.  They will have some outlets available for those of you that need to “plug-in”.

Remember, this is a 100% FREE event. All you need to bring is your camera! BUT, you have to sign up to be eligible for prizes!

This is also the same day that Downtown Racine will be having Gallery Night, so there should be LOTS of neat stuff going on in the mid to late afternoon.

Here is a tentative map of our Photo Walk. If other things come up that may be of more interest, I’ll adjust the map accordingly. It MAY be adjusted to hit part of 6th and 7th Street as well. This is only a SUGGESTED route. While the whole idea for the walk is for it to be a social event, to teach and learn from other photographers, there is no hard and fast rule that says everyone has to travel in one, big pack.
