A Message From The Walk Leader
PhotoWalk Portland (Chinatown & The Pearl District), OR USA.
Greetings fellow PhotoWalkers! I am excited to once again lead a Scott Kelby Worldwide PhotoWalk in Portland, OR. We will meet at the Gateway to Chinatown on 400 W Burnside in the vacant lot at 9:00 AM. After taking a group portrait we will head down 4th Ave through Chinatown turning right on Everett. Go one block on Everett to NW 3rd Ave. The Chinese Gardens on on the corner of NW3rd & Everett. (Optional detour is the Chinese Garden which opens at 10:00am and costs $8.50 for admission.) We will continue down NW 3rd Ave to Flanders and take a left, continuing to NW 6th Ave then take a right and go towards Portland Union Station where we have the option of photographing the architecture from both inside and out. Think HDR for an inside shot of the station… After spending some time at Union Station we will go south on broadway to Hoyt, take a right and go to 8th Ave turn left and continue to Everett where we will turn right and continue to NW 13th where we will zig zag our way to our end point at the On Deck Sports Bar & Grill at 910 NW 14th St & 11:30 AM where we will have a chance to get to know each other even better after having spent a day sharing our passion for both photography and Portland. This route is simply a suggested path. If you see something down another street that beckens you and your camera by all means detour, explore the nooks and crannies, have fun! Go at your own pace. This is not a race to see who finishes first but rather a time to stop and look through each others viewfinders, share ideas, composition and technical skills with each other. Don’t be shy, step up and ask to take a look…it always amazes and delights me that we all see the same subjects but we all see them in a different way. See you on the 18th of July!
Keep smiling,
Laurie

So, who won for the city? I am dying to find out and wish them luck!
It’s amazing–and humbling–to see how many people see so many different things in such a small area…. Some really great shots here.
Awesome! I love how diverse these are. Were we really in the same place?
Ack, these are great everyone… love some of the photo titles as well.
