UPDATE: Instructions for uploading photos after the photowalk

NOTE: uploading / sharing your photos in ENTIRELY OPTIONAL.   Here’s the link the photowalk folks have posted for the instructions:  http://worldwidephotowalk.com/uploading-your-photos.  It includes a video and text description of two different ways to share your photos: one using a Lightroom 2 plug-in, and one “manual” method.  You can use either version.  i.e., you do NOT have to run out and purchase Lightroom in order to participate.

Be a part of Worldwide Photowalk 2009!  We’re going to be walking Old Towne Orange’s Historic Plaza District, in the heart of Orange County, California.

Old Towne, Orange Historic District, a one square-mile around the original plaza is a vibrant commercial district, containing Orange County’s oldest operating bank and the oldest operating soda fountain. Orange is unique among the region and the state in that it has the second largest concentration of historic buildings.  The quintessential “small town” look has lent its streets and storefronts to many a motion picture and television show, including “Forest Gump,” “Lethal Weapon 4,” “That Thing You Do,” “Clockstoppers”, and “Ghost Whisperer.”

On any given Saturday, you’re likely to see classic cars parked along the street, or perhaps even a car club gathering. There are lots of opportunities for portraiture and architectural photography. Old Towne also presents terrific opportunities for HDR (high dynamic range) imaging.

Public parking is available along most of the streets.  There are also two free public parking lots within walking distance of the circle (look for the signs):

• Olive Street: One block West of the Orange Circle, just South of Chapman Ave.
• Orange Street: One block East of the Orange Circle, just North of Chapman Ave.
