A Message From The Walk Leader

We will meet at Preservation Park where there are 16 restored buildings from the “turn of the century” (what they call new construction in Boston), various old time benches and street lights and a fountain that used to languish at the corner of San Pablo and Grand.  You can convince one friend to bring their view camera with the leaf back for its tilts and swings, another to bring their fancy perspective correcting lens and then while they sweat under the weight you can take architectural photos with your smaller camera and later fix the perspective in Photoshop! Then to show how smart you are while they are still setting up you can go next door to the tan brick and terra cotta Charles Greene Library that was dedicated in 1902 and became The African American Museum after the 1989 earthquake.  While your friends are still placing their tripods you can breeze over to the Ronald V. Dellums Federal Building to marvel at the dichroic glass and maybe practice your HDR. You can then go east, west, north or south to interesting visuals.  So whether you are investigating your inner William Eggleston or just having a fun walk with a light collecting device, this Photowalk has something for you.
