A Message From The Walk Leader
Hi Everyone,
Join me for an afternoon of walking around St Kilda with our cameras. An area with so much to create amazing images of - beach, plants, architectural and even some interesting people! I have timed it so we will have daylight as well as using the sunset opportunity. The rough walk route can be found here.
Afterwards we’ll go and grab a drink and a bite to eat at Bigmouth - after all it’s not just about the photography, but to meet like-minded people. Thanks for those interested in joining us, unfortunately all the places have now been filled.
Cheers!

It was really great fun taking part and meeting all of you! The posted photos are great
Congratulations to all those who posted photos - there are some really awesome shots among these. I think I’ve figured out that over the course of the next year I’ll be taking some lessons in photoshop! Have the basics under my belt but I want to learn how to take my photos to the next level. Some of these effects are stunning. I thought I knew which would get my vote for the ‘best’ (if I had a vote that is) but the late flurry has now made that choice a little harder. Well done to everyone.
Hey everyone,
I had a great time too. This was the first time I’ve hung out in such a large group of photography-enthusiasts, and for once I didn’t feel isolated when shooting in public! Everyone was far friendlier than I expected, and I had a ball despite the winds and the rain. It all came together towards the end when the sun and the clouds put up quite a display for us all.
I brought along my brand new LX3, and I can’t remember having so much fun shooting with my D50 in the last three years. And incidentally both shots I’ve uploaded are from the LX3. Nothing from the D50 made it to the editing panel!!!
Bit of a surprise seeing myself, rugged up in hat, gloves and parka, in uwenlow’s ‘Aim, Shoot’ photo! Despite the bracing weather it really was great fun. Afterwards as some of us thawed out over a drink or two, I gave out some promo cards for Photo Art Gallery, a great free on-line site for enthusiast photographers to display, discuss, sell their images, enter comps and exchange ideas. Its viewable on , and well worth a look. Last year’s inaugural Worldwide Photowalk winner Suhaim Abdullah from Singapore is also a member.
Hi everyone,
I really enjoyed it, although it was freezing and windy. Was great meeting everyone too. If anyone’s interested in joining an online art design and photography community, it’s called http://www.redbubble.com. I host two groups on it, Night Photography and Movement>>>Motion Blur, so get on and check it out.
Josh.
I had a great afternoon with everyone who has the same passion as me for photography, although it was a very cold winters day with the wind coming in off the bay, I had great fun - would love to do a walk in warmer conditions - maybe next time ??????
I attended last year at Southbank which was 6am and enjoyed the different time of day for taking the photos at St Kilda.
I have had a look at my pics and while they are ok I was also a hit and miss with mine - but thats what the day was all about - just getting out there and having fun.
Can’t wait to see everyone’s pics as I am sure there will be some real stunners.
Thanks everyone for a great afternoon
The weather was challenging - not the sort I’d normally go out in for a photoshoot, but the familiar landmarks were interesting in the clear wintry light and blustering winds. Look forward to seeing the shots posted by this group, as well as from all around the world.
Thanks to everyone who made this walk a fun time! Hope you all got great shots. Mine were a hit and miss affair - need to keep practising that good ol’ exposure triangle. Learned a lot and most appreciated some assistance along the way AND meeting some of you.
Looking at the two already uploaded I’m not sure any of mine are worthy of even viewing. Speaking of which, is it possible to view the images any larger than the thumbnail?
Hi,
I wish there’d been room for more of us - any un-obvious highlights, eg if I walked around the route myself with reasonable observancy would I be able to see everything you included?
I’m particularly interested in the Blessington, Tennyson, Chaucer section….
