A Message From The Walk Leader

*** UPDATED ON 8-5-2009 ***

There were a lot of great images posted but the winning nod went to Scott Larson for his image “Bike Path”. Congrats Scott! Good luck in the worldwide finals!!

*** UPDATED ON 7-11-2009 ***

We have arranged to have lunch at Squid Lips which is within close proximity with the start location (Eau Gallie Civic Center). Everyone is welcome to join us for lunch after the walk!

***

We are full, but please email Robert Vanelli your information. We will put you on a list for either this group or another group in our area. Thank you for the overwhelming interest!

We have a great photowalk planned for the Melbourne, Florida group that is taking part in the Scott Kelby Worldwide Photowalk event! Join Robert Vanelli and Terry Reinertfor a photo walk through downtown Eau Gallie and then over into the historic area of Eau Gallie. Our walk will include many different types of scenery for every type of photographer. There will be an urban street area, a beautiful park surrounded by oak trees, a magnificent view of the Indian River, and historical landmarks including architecture and a graveyard dating back to the late 1800’s.

We will be meeting in the parking lot of the Eau Gallie Civic Center on Highland Ave at 9AM and finishing the walk at the same location at Noon. Even though we will be out for 3 hours the distance we are walking is not that long; roughly a mile total. The reason we are planning for 3 hours instead of only 2 is because there is a LOT to stop and shoot along the way. After the shoot we will be meeting for lunch at Squid Lips restaurant.

    I like Looking Through.

  2. chiesman says:

I’ve looked everywhere I could think of but cannot find any information on the voting procedure. Are the walkers still doing the selection by voting or has Vanelli decided to bite the bullet and risk is professional reputation here in Melbourne? Still looking forward to next years walk now. Paul

  3. gswd says:

If we could find someplace with some good and interesting lighting (buildings, trees, street lights, etc) I would definitely be interested in an evening shoot.

  4. djdorifto says:

    I’m in for another walk

  5. tkrphoto says:

The walk was a blast. I realized that I did a lot more talking than actual shooting. I ended up with 55 photos and most of those were of all of you on the walk! We are going to get another walk going sometime soon… will probably wait until November when it gets a little cooler. Unless anyone is interested in doing an early morning or late evening walk when the sun isn’t too visible… let us know!

  6. tkrphoto says:

Vanelli created a flickr group the other day for everyone to upload photos to. You can find it here: http://www.flickr.com/groups/2009_melbourne_photo_walk/

  7. djdorifto says:

we should make a flickr group

  8. Harris says:

Good time. Thanks for friends during the walk. Where did the time go?

    Harris

  9. adubin says:

I really enjoyed this Photo Walk and meeting new people.

I accidentally uploaded two of the same images. I would appreciate if somebody could delete one of them. ADubin

  10. djdorifto says:

just got home, had a blast. first time out to one of these things, can’t wait till next year.

  11. tkrphoto says:

How exactly would he be risking his professional reputation by selecting the image himself? Or was it a joke and I missed it? LOL

I know quite a few people emailed their selections to him. The winner was Bike Path by S Larson.

  12. tkrphoto says:

Also remember that the official position of the walk is that the walk leader is supposed to select the image. V opened it up to vote from all the walkers to get everyone more involved.
