An interesting mix of people, objects and locations, in this West London market making it a fantastic area for photography
Portobello Road Market is one of the most famous markets in the world, for second-hand and antique objects. On Saturday the famous antiques market is held towards the Southern end of Portobello Road, near Notting Hill Gate. In addition to the antique stalls there are a whole range of arcades, galleries, shops and cafes.
Open: Saturday, from 8.00am to 6.30 pm.
Tube and bus information
The nearest underground station is Notting Hill Gate, which is on the Central, Circle and District lines. Ladbroke Grove, which is on the Hammersmith and City Line, is also fairly near to Portobello Road. Buses 7, 12, 23, 27, 28, 31, 52, 70 & 328 all stop close to Portobello Road.
It is advised to come by public transport, as parking spaces are scarce especially on Saturdays.
