A Message From The Walk Leader

The Historic Bagnell Dam Strip, located in Lake Ozark, Missouri, has long been a favorite destination for vacationers and locals alike. The strip heats up on summer nights with countless visitors to its shops, arcades, and other attractions. Timed to catch the evening light and (I hope) the cool of summer twilight, our photowalk will begin with a trek across the Dam and include a leisurely stroll up the strip, each of us pausing to capture our unique interpretations of summer fun in the Ozarks. 

Join your host (Pat) and up to 50 photographers of all skill levels as we share an evening of fun and photography.

Update: After the walk, you may upload up to 2 of your favorite images for judging by a panel to include your host, Don Roeloffs of  Yesteryear Images, and Joe Nieters, President of the Lake Arts Photo Club. Photographer of the top image will be entered as our representative in the worldwide competition and automatically wins a copy of Scott Kelby’s latest book. Top 3 images will receive a free print of their image courtesy of Yesteryear Images on the strip.

All photographers are welcome to gather someplace on the strip for socializing after the event –open to suggestions!

The JR Photowalkers above are my grandchildren: Devin, Lily, Emma, and Ben, who helped me scope out our route and thoroughly enjoyed their own version of the photowalk on July 5th.

Update: Note that uploads will be limited to 2 photos each rather than the 3 I reported earlier. The deadline for upload is 1 week after the photowalk -July 25, 2009 12:59PM EST. The photos will be judged and winning image uploaded by August 1, 2009 12:59PM EST. Prizewinners announced August 17th. As host and member of the judging panel, I will not be competing.
