*** It was a pleasure meeting everyone at the Kemah Photo Walk!  Thanks for making this a fun and successful event.  Meeting new people is always desired.  And, you now know the lure of early morning Kemah!  Don’t forget to post your winning photos! ***

The Scott Kelby World Wide Photo Walk is just a short time away! Get up early and catch the beautiful sunrise over Galveston Bay. Use the unique beauty of the Kemah Boardwalk features in your photos. From the Kemah Bullet (roller coaster) to the Coffee House, there are many photo opportunities!

Don’t forget to bring along your macro lens as well. There are many lovely features in Kemah that will entice you to get up close and personal.

Also, do not feel relegated to remain only on the boardwalk. Venture to other parts of the small city. There are lighthouse features about town, antique shops, and many entertainment venues which offer quite a unique feel to the city’s unique nature.

While the World Wide Photo Walk rules are that the group meet for two hours, there is actually a two hour minimum that we are to meet. Personally I love the sunrise in Kemah! I suspect you will too. If you are unable to make it to the boardwalk by 6:00 to join the initial walk, arrive when you can. Send a quick email and I will capture it on my cell phone and reply back. If you email me, I will send my cell phone number for you to send a text message if that is more desirable.

The Kemah, Texas photo walk promises to capture the beauty of the area in and around this Galveston Bay town. We will meet up in front of Starbucks on Kipp Avenue near 3rd Street. We will meet back at that location at 8:30. If you are still venturing about town or arriving later, feel free to set you own time. While I feel the morning light is absolutely the best in Kemah, I will hang out at Starbucks ‘chimping’ until about 10:30 in the event any of you decide to continue venturing through the morning. Do stop by on your way out of the city.

-July 25: This is the deadline for photo walkers to submit up to 2 of your best images to their location page. These will need to be JPG files (not RAW or TIFF), and the size limit will be posted when you go to upload. Most likely around 1.5-2.0 MB or so.
-August 1: This is the deadline for walk leaders to submit their choice for best image from their walk to us. More specifically, 11:59 p.m. EST on August 1. Instructions on this later.
-August 17: The 10 honorable mentions and 1 grand prize winner will be announced.

Charge those batteries, bring extra media cards!
