A Message From The Walk Leader

Welcome to the Johannesburg Photowalk. This is going to be exciting…Johannesburg is a vibrant city and the idea will be to capture some really great images as we move into winter.  We will be meeting in Braamfontein, outside the University of the Witwatersrand on Jan Smuts ave and from there we can walk the area to catch some great city images. You will have the opportunity to get images of the Nelson Mandela Bridge, some great inner city pics, Newtown precinct and so much more. Of course, this is South Africa, so be aware for you own safety and try not to carry a very bulky photo bag and keep you eyes on your belongings at all times. Maybe bring a friend along too, to help you….but above all, lets have fun!

Hi Photowalkers…

Well I am pretty excited, we have got 24 people registered for the Photowalk and counting, I think we will be fully booked pretty soon, so if you have a friend who wants to sign up, get them to do it TODAY. I also had an email from a photowalker who said he wasnt sure if he was registered becuse there seemed to be an error on the page. If this happens, just click on the “contact leader” button and send me an email to check if your registration went through.

Lastly, I checked on Flickr to find the images from last years Photowalk, so click here to take a look at the winners from last year as some INSPIRATION. There are some pretty amazing images there….will keep you updated

Hi again Photowalkers…

Ok, we have an end location, a place for us to put up our weary feet after 2 hours of slogging it through the mean streets of Jozi. We will meet at 4pm (or as close to 4pm as possible) at Bean There Coffee Roastery. Bean There is at 44 Stanley Rd in Milpark (click here for map) and is a very unique coffee experience. As the event is free, all cups of coffee and foodstuffs purchased will be for your account, so bring some cash along…it will be good to unwind with a good strong latte.

We have reached our capacity, 50 walkers have been registered, so well done. I am really happy about that, I know some will be disappointed, but there is defintely room for another photowalk in JHB because I have people who still want to register. So, if any of you arent going to be able to make it, please let me know, so those who are in the queue can register. I will keep you updated if there are any changes….
