A Message From The Walk Leader

Welcome!

Come for a fun walk through Iowa City. This is for people with an interest in photography, still cameras of any kind, and/or people. The emphasis is on enjoying the social experience, -and the interesting images that will flow from that. Here is the plan for our route: Starting at the Chancey Swan Park, we’ll move into the Farmer’s Market to capture the local color, then a casual walk to and through the ped mall, amidst interesting people, sculptures and architecture. We will take our time before moving on to the Old Capital in the middle of the Pentacrest, -not the Old Capital Mall! Finally we will work our way down to the river and the Iowa Memorial Union. The walk will officially end at the pedestrian bridge there.

Following the walk, anyone interested can join me for pixel-sharing, and casual discussions about our walk and your special brand of photography, and perhaps a (Dutch) lunch. I will be going back towards our starting point to the ped mall location shared by Capanna Coffee Company and The Wedge Pizza, 136 S. Dubuque St. They can accommodate anything from coffee, gelato, soup, sandwiches or pizza, and they have a large open seating area that should be great for socializing.

No matter what your experience, purpose, or equipment, good things can happen if you show up. So, I look forward to meeting you and sharing our collective joy of photography!
