A Message From The Walk Leader

Our walk location is set as Historic Washington State Park (a few miles from Hope).  The park includes a number of restored homes, churches and business from the Civil War era.  Washington served as the state capitol for a short time during the war.   A number of flower gardens and native plants are sprinkled throughout the community for those who prefer to capture the flora and fauna.  A grand magnolia tree embraces a log cabin, overlooks the blacksmith shop, and guards the entrance to the cemetary.  You can visit the park website at http://www.historicwashingtonstatepark.com/ .

  1. Nell Rockett says:

These pictures are all great. I especially enjoyed the the two window scenes since they seem to reflect history of Washington. One is looking out to the past and the other is reflecting history. The butterfly picture and swan-beauty should be submitted to the Rural Arkansas magazine.
