A Message From The Walk Leader
The Goodyear / Avondale Photowalk will take place in the Old Town Avondale area along Western Avenue near the new library. Photographers should be able to find a variety of subject matter in this historical district. Since the Photowalk is taking place all over the world I felt it might be nice to try and pick up some ‘local flavor’ rather than just pure nature or suburban landscapes. My name is Richard Gross and I have worked in Photo Education and photography for a number of years. Presently I teach Photography and Photo history at EMCC. My official title is Photowalk Leader, but this is more of a get-together and stroll around the area to see what shots you can discover as well as chat with some other like-minded folks. Meet at 7AM at the public parking lot at 6th St. and Western Ave. We will shoot photos for a couple of hours and then drive up Dysart Rd. to the Golden Corral for Coffee or Breakfast and photo talk.

That was a fun morning. I think the clothesline show will be interesting and hopefully fun for the local community. I particularly enjoyed “Train tracks to an unknown location” and while some might say tracks are cliché, when they are done well like this one they are evocative. The texture of “Avondale Wave” reminds me that the abstract can be lots of fun.
I look forward to next year!
GREAT WINNING PHOTOGRAPH. I LOVE CHIPIII’S WORK. LOVED SUNBLOCK AND

Awesome shot with the “QUIET CAFE.” Had a good time. Look forward to getting out there again next year.
