A Message From The Walk Leader

Join John Baltz for the second annual Scott Kelby Photowalk on July 18, 2009 in Historic Downtown Eureka Springs, Arkansas.

What is photowalking?

Photowalking is the act of walking with a camera for the main purpose of taking pictures of things that the photographer may find interesting. While related to street photography, photowalking is differentiated by the main impetus being to photograph things of interest rather than people specifically.

How Long Does it Last?

Two hours, from start to finish.

Where will we go?  

The Photowalk will start at the historic Basin Springs Park located adjacent to the historic Basin Park Hotel in downtown Eureka Springs.  We will then move throughout the surrounding  area photographing the wonderful architecture, people, and art the Eureka Springs is famous for. We will then meet up at the famous Mud Street Cafe’ to compare images and socialize.

Note: Most parking in Eureka Springs is either metered or in slot-pay parking lots.  Be sure to bring appropriate cash of four or five dollars to pay for parking during the walk.

Do we have to stay together as one large group?

Nope. Once the walk starts, you can follow the lead of John as he winds through Eureka Spring’s alleys and top art locations or  you can of move at your own pace, and we try to make the routes short enough so you have plenty of time for shooting and exploring along the way, and still get to the ending point on time.

Is there a fee to attend?

Nope, it’s totally free (well, if you buy food or drinks at the restaurant, that’s on you, but there’s no charge to be a part of the Photo Walk itself). One person will be selcted to win Scott Kelby’s new Digital Photography Vol.3 .

How should I dress?

Casual, and wear comfortable shoes because you’ll be walking (Hey, it’s a photo “walk,” right?)
