A Message From The Walk Leader

Come join the East Lansing Photowalk for an opportunity to meet other local photographers (of all levels) while strolling through the beautiful campus of Michigan State University.  This walk is being planned to offer a mixture of sights and locations including the streets of downtown East Lansing, recognized features of Michigan State University, and even a botanical garden.

The plans will be to begin the walk near the Grand River Ramp, located on Grand River Ave. between Morrill Hall and Olin Health Center.  The walk will end on Grand River Ave. with the intention of going to the Peanut Barrel, a local spot where we can enjoy the images from the day over good food and laughs (on the patio weather permitting).

Thanks for the compliments on the flower! :-D

I didn’t know whether to upload that one, or the 3/4 version of it (see the FlickR site) I was really torn. I personally like the 3/4 version but I had other people telling me they like this one. It was one of the last shots of the day. I just happen to looked down and saw it. I like the way the background turned out - by adjusting the black slider (and some other adjustments) in Lightroom, it made the background completely disappear.

Thank you Will! I took that shot before her photographers started shooting her. They were just to her right, so I wasn’t able to get a good shot with her in the left third of the frame. Especially with the long part of the dress behind her. That was the only shot I took of her, and then I moved on before getting yelled at or being a nuisance.
I have never shot a wedding (except for a few shots that I took at my sister’s wedding) but I think it would be a blast to be a wedding photographer. Great images so far, though, from everyone. I really like the white flower and the path leading to Beaumont. I’m not a big fan of HDR stuff, but some of the HDR images here are O.K.

Managed to upload just in time! I am new to dig photography and to lightroom so it took me all evening to watch the tutorials and upload these. ….Now to figure out how to get them all up to our Flickr site, too.

I really like the wedding shot by spada (since I do a few weddings from time-to-time). Nice shot.

However, *I* got ‘yelled’ at by their photographer for taking shots of the wedding party…

  5. Rain says:

Hi, MSU staff and Sony shooter. I’m going to bring my Sony F828. See everyone tonight. Hopefully the rain stays away.

Hi everyone, are there any fellow Spartans going on this photo walk? I am excited to walk through the campus, as I haven’t visited East Lansing since last year’s homecoming tailgate.
Also, are there any other Minolta/Sony shooters?
