A Message From The Walk Leader

Vanakkam, and oh yes, we’re having a Photo Walk in Namma Chennai!

There’s room for only 50 of us in this group, so if you’re still thinking about joining in? Do it quickly! We’re still figuring out the whole walk, so don’t forget to register yourself here and check back for more details.

And to remind you once again, the Photo Walk is scheduled for 18 July 2009 (Saturday).

A warm welcome to people who have joined the walk! I’m still trying to figure out the best way to communicate wth members of our group, so do check in once in a while - we need to have some sort of consensus on the final route, meeting (sit-down) place and all those details. Suggestions and opinions welcome!

We will assemble at the Mahatma Gandhi statue (3.30 PM to 4.00 PM) and proceed towards and up to the Anna Samadhi, then return to Gandhi statue via the beach by about 5.30 PM. The total distance covered, start to finish, will be approximately 5.5km. This should give us enough time to catch some interesting subjects (buildings, statues and traffic among other things) to photograph as well the opportunity to catch people enjoying their weekend beach stroll. Saturday on the beach is a very colourful day with lots of interesting stalls and a huge crowd to keep things exciting! At the end of the walk we can have a sitaround (5.30 PM to 6.00 PM) at the open-air cafe near Gandhi statue and share a cuppa. What do you say?
