A Message From The Walk Leader
Photowalking is the act of walking with a camera for the main purpose of taking pictures of things that the photographer may find interesting.
Bring your cellphone, digital camera or top of the range DSLR and join me at the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront for a Photowalk. Bring your friends & family as we walk around and photograph whatever catches your eye. It’s fun and the best part - it’s free!!
The Victoria and Alfred Waterfront is one of the major tourist destinations in Cape Town and South Africa and the location for my Photowalk. With sweeping views of Table Mountain, a fully operational harbor, many historical buildings and enough shops and restaurants to keep anybody happy the V&A Waterfront offers a great mixture of old and new - all with a truly South African feel.
Our Photowalk will begin at 07h30 at the Old Clock Tower which was completed in 1882 as the original Port Captain’s Office. From here we will make our way around the wharf to photograph a diverse range of subject ranging from museums, seascapes and people to cape fur seals, abstracts and landscapes.
At this time of year the sun rises just after 07h00 which, weather allowing, will allow us to photograph sunrise over the V&A Waterfront with one of Cape Town’s major landmarks in the background - Table Mountain. Shopping hours at the V&A Waterfront starts at 09h00 which will then put us in the prime position to capture the colorful hustle and bustle of the people and staff as they get the Waterfront ready for another Saturday in Cape Town.
We will end our Photowalk at around 10h00 one of the many coffee shops at the V&A Waterfront where we can enjoy coffee and breakfast as we share images, images and whatever else comes to mind!
With ample parking and a lot of entertainment for after your walk, the VA Waterfront promises to be a great location for a Photowalk!
