A Message From The Walk Leader

Welcome, welcome!

My name is Josh and I shall be your host for the Second Annual Photowalk in the great city of Brisbane, Australia.

What we have here is the first draft of my plan for the photowalk, I’m very open to suggestions and ideas of good locales and points of interest for shooting, but I would like to keep roughly the same path… So please feel free to weigh in with your suggestion.

PLEASE CHECK BACK REGULARLY TO SEE ANY MODIFICATIONS THAT HAVE BEEN MADE TO THE PLAN!

HUGE change of plans people. I’ve been thinking over the previous plan and after taking a few ideas into account, and after seeing some suggestions from the leaders of the worldwide photowalk thing (Scott Kelby, etc.) I’ve decided to make the walk a heap shorter, and start where we should. I’ve done this for a few reasons, one being, that the previous walk was going to end up being around 8 hours, which is a massive day, especially if you’re having to lug around all your equipment. and two being that this is supposed to be fun, and if the walk is too big, then it will be less fun, and too much of a rush.

The new plan will still encompass the main area of the previous plan, just in a much tighter format. but a bit more open in the execution. The new plan will look like this:

5:45am Start meeting at the McDonald’s on the corner of Creek and Charlotte Streets

6:00am Start of Walk. Probably hang around Eagle St pier for the sunrise.

6:30am Sunrise

7:00am-8:30am Roam the city. Going up around the botanics and St Stephen’s Cathedral. Maybe some abstract urban and Alleyway shooting. Really upto the individual person.

9:00am Official end of Walk - At the intersection of Queen and Albert Streets, near the Hungry Jacks, from there we will find food for breakfast and sit down for a bit of chimping and sharing of thoughts, ideas and good shots from the morning.
