A Message From The Walk Leader

On Saturday, July 18th, Brandon will participate in Scott Kelby’s World Wide Photo Walk, led by Inge Skliros MPA, F.Ph. member of  the Professional Photographers of Canada and NAPP.  I’m sure you have all heard of Scott Kelby - Scott is the editor-in-chief for Layers Magazine, Photoshop User magazine and the president of NAPP the National Association of Photoshop Professionals, and all round great guy who comes up with wonderful workflow tips for all of us Photoshop and Lightroom users.  Plus, he and Matt Kloskowski host the weekly Web show ‘D-Town TV’ for all Nikon ‘D’ camera users.

What you may ask is the World Wide Photo walk?  All over the world photo enthusiasts, both professional and amateur, will come together in selected locations to photograph areas of local interest. It is basically a social event where we can share our love of photography on a totally different level. We will photograph historical locations around downtown and near Brandon University. Walk along Rosser and Princess Avenues, or along Pacific, shooting the period buildings that reflect Brandon’s past.  Stroll along shady streets and photograph Brandon’s heritage houses. Stop by Brandon University and photograph the Original Building or the new library. After the shoot, gather at Chilly Chutney Indian Restaurant for lunch where we will upload our images and I will choose the best image of the day. The winner will receive a copy of Scott’s book ‘Digital Photography 3′. When all the winners have been uploaded from the different cities, Scott will choose the overall winner who will receive the grand prize of the full Adobe Creative Suite 4, a Wacom tablet and two tickets to Photoshop World! Lat year over 280 cities participated from all over the world, and this year we will be joining them!
