The copies of Scott Kelby’s Digital Photography Book, Vol. 3 should be shipped out to leaders and winners by mid-October, and should arrive at your door by the end of October.

We apologize that this has taken so long to get the books out to you.  Needless to say, we’ve learned a lot from this year’s Photo Walk and everything that has surrounded it, and we will be much more well prepared next year.  Thanks for hanging in there and being patient with us!

Yesterday Scott made his winning selections, and man I don’t envy that job.  There were TONS of great shots from the Photo Walk, and I know that he had a very hard time narrowing it down to 11 images from around 900!  You can see the winners over on Scott’s blog or right here on the Photo Walk site.

Scott had such a difficult time choosing just 11 images that he decided to go ahead and honor some of the other images he really liked.  They don’t win anything, but he recognized them on his blog today.  The “categories” ranged from Best Use of HDR to Best Really Blurry Shot of a Couple in a Tunnel with Graffiti, so they were really just whatever Scott liked

And if you haven’t already looked through the gallery of local winners, now would be a great time to do so.  Why, you ask?  Because the People’s Choice voting is now open!  So go have a look and vote for the image you thought should have won.  The winner will receive a $250 B&H gift card, (4) Kelby Training DVDs, and (3) books from Kelby Training. Voting will be open until August 25th at 11:59pm EST.  You can vote on as many images as you like each day, but only once per day.

Q: How can I find out which photo my walk leader sent in for Scott to judge?

A: If the leader has properly submitted their local winning image, it will show up on their local walk page above the gallery of all the images from the walk (as can be seen here).

If the leader hasn’t submitted their local winning image properly, we are in the process of contacting them with step-by-step instructions on how to do so.  They will have until read the rest of the post »
