  • What A Day!!

Did everyone enjoy their Photo Walk as much as I did??  There were over 32,600 of you around the world who participated!  I’m sure I speak for Scott and everyone else here at Kelby Media Group when I offer a heartfelt “Thank You” to everyone who came out on Saturday to be part of this overwhelming event.

But as you all know, this thing isn’t over yet.  There is still much to be done…First off, submitting images for the contest -  Many of you have already started doing this, which is great.  But remember, ONLY 2 IMAGES can be submitted by each person to be judged.  This should be all you’re able to upload now, but if you submitted more than two already, please contact your walk leader to have them delete your extra images.  If you submit more than two images, YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED. If haven’t already watched the videos on how to upload using Lightroom or the website, check out the instructions right here.

    Again, deadlines are as follows:
-July 25: This is the deadline for photo walkers to submit up to 2 of your best images to their location page. These will need to be JPG files (not RAW or TIFF), and the size limit will be posted when you go to upload.  Most likely around 1.5-2.0 MB or so.  11:59 p.m. EST
-August 1: This is the deadline for walk leaders to submit their choice for best image from their walk to us.  More specifically, 11:59 p.m. EST on August 1.  Instructions on this later.  11:59 p.m. EST
-August 17: The 10 honorable mentions and 1 grand prize winner will be announced.

Second, sharing images on Flickr - Again, many of you have already started doing this as well!  The “official” Worldwide Photo Walk Flickr Group is here, to which anyone who participated Saturday can upload images.  If you’re new to Flickr, my good friend RC has created a few instructional videos to help you out.

This first one shows how to find your local walk’s Flickr group (if you have one, of course):

And this one shows how to find and join the “official” Worldwide Photo Walk Flickr Group:

Lastly, I would be remiss if I didn’t share a few shots from my walk in Downtown Tampa!

Chuck Levin of the Florida Museum of Photographic Arts shares a bit about the museum and their current show

We had a great day, and were able to end our walk at the FMoPA (seen above), who provided us with pizza and drinks for lunch!  Thanks to Chip Weiner who hooked us up with the museum for a great ending to a great day!

And be sure to check out some of our other friends’ blogs who led walks!
